47 Killed, 11 Injured As Passenger Plane Crashes in Taiwan

Forty-seven were killed after a plane crash landed in Taiwan.
Eleven people were reportedly injured in the crash.
According to reports, the TransAsia flight with 58 people aboard
took off from Kaohsiung Siaogang Airport in Taiwan at about 5
p.m. local time and was flying to Penghu’s Magong Airport.
The twin-engine turboprop plane caught fire after it landed "at
the end of a runway" on one of Taiwan’s Penghu islands. It was
a second attempt to land on Penghu amid heavy rain. Local
media is also reporting that the plane crashed into at least two
houses.
Earlier, fire officials had said that 51 people had died and seven
had been wounded when the plane hit the ground.
Witnesses described seeing homes on fire, the affiliate said.
The cause of the crash wasn’t immediately known.
