Pastor Chris Oyakhilome’s Wife Files For Divorce In London

After months of speculations over the marriage crisis between
the founder of Christ Embassy Church Pastor Chris Oyakhilome
and his wife Anita, a new report resurfaced claiming the wife
has now filed for divorce in a London court.
In an exclusive report published by The Cable News, the divorce
proceeding has entered its final phase.
Anita is said to be seeking a divorce on the grounds of
“unreasonable behavior”, “adultery” and several other
allegations which cannot be published for legal reasons.
The suit number of the divorce case is No FD14D01650, and it
was filed on April 9, 2014, at Divorce Section A, Central Family
Court, First Avenue House, High Holborn, London, UK, on
Anita’s behalf by Attwaters Jameson Hill Solicitors.
The decree nisi (in legal terms, is like a yellow card in a football
match which is a precursor to a red card) was served to Pastor
Chris in his hotel room during a recent visit to the UK and the
decree absolute, which will effectively end the marriage, is
expected to be issued soon.
Anita had wanted to go public with the details of her allegations
against the husband but reached an informal agreement to
sheathe her sword in the interest of the church.
According to an elder of the church, the pastor has denied his
wife’s allegations of adultery blaming it on the influence of ‘Bad
friends’ who are intent on destroying their home.
While Anita believes she has been relegated in the scheme of
things in the church, her husband has reportedly accused her of
trying to usurp power and authority above her seniors in the
ministry.
It would be recalled that sometime in May 2014, there were
rumours that the couple were breaking up after some church
members launched a Facebook campaign , asking: “Where is
Rev. Anita Oyakhilome?”
Officials of the church quickly moved to deny any rift between
the pastor and his wife.

Oyakhilome is the President of Believers’ Love World Inc, the
registered name of the Christian ministry, while his wife is the
Vice President and he is regarded as one of the richest and most
influential pastors in Nigeria.
They have two teenage daughters, Sharon and Charlyn.

'Young Jeezy' arrested after Wiz Khalifa concert shooting

Famed hip-hop rapper Jay Jenkins, known as "Young Jeezy," was arrested on Sunday in relation to a deadly shooting at a Wiz Khalifa concert, police said.

"Six people, including Jenkins, were arrested at Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Irvine, California, on Sunday for possession of an assault rifle," said Lt. Saul Jaeger of the Mountain View Police Department.

Law enforcement continues to pursue an active investigation, though no arrests have been made in Friday's homicide, Jaeger said. All six people were "cooperative" in the related arrest on Sunday, Jaeger said.

Bail is set at $1 million for Jenkins, who is being held at the Orange County Police Department close to where the arrest occurred, said Lt. Jeff Hallock of the Orange County Sheriff's Department.

Authorities first got calls about gunshots at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Northern California, shortly after 11 p.m. Friday, the Mountain View Police Department said. Police arrived to find a 38-year-old man shot multiple times. The man was transported to a hospital and died from his injuries, according to police.

Mountain View investigators found the weapon on a tour bus after a search warrant had been authorized.

In the wake of the shooting, Wiz Khalifa canceled his concert on Saturday in Chula Vista, California.

at 8ft 4 inches has died. He was just 44. The peasant
farmer from the Ukrainian village of Podoliantsy, died
on Sunday August 24th from a brain haemorrhage after
health problems.
In his last interview, Leonid, He talked about how his
height was a curse, why he refused to be measured by
the Guinness Book of World Records and also why he
refused to get married
“To me, my height is a curse, a punishment from God,
not something to celebrate. What sin I have

Chef cooking snake dies after cobra bites him – 20 minutes after head was cut off

How this happened is beyond me. A snake that already
had its head chopped off, bites the chef trying to cook
it and kills him. Full report below…
A chef preparing a dish from cobra flesh died
when the snake’s head bit him – 20 minutes after it
was cut off.
Victim Peng Fan had been preparing a special dish
made from the Indochinese spitting cobra, a rare
delicacy in Asia where eating snakes is
commonplace.
But when he went to throw the serpent’s severed
head into the waste bin, it bit him – injecting him with
its fast acting venom.
Police say Mr Peng died before he could be given
life saving anti-venom in hospital.
Diners who were eating in the restaurant at the
time have described screams coming from the
kitchen as the tragedy unfolded.
Restaurant guest Lin Sun, 44, who was in the
restaurant with his wife Su at the time said: “We
were in the restaurant having a meal for my wife’s
birthday when suddenly there was a lot of
commotion.
“We did not know what was happening but could
hear screams coming from the kitchen.
“There were calls for a doctor in the restaurant but
unfortunately by the time medical assistance arrived
the man had already died. After we heard that we
did not continue with our meal.”
A police spokesman said: “It is a highly unusual case
but it appears to be just an accident. He prepared
the snake himself and was just unlucky.
“There was nothing that could be done to save the
man. Only the anti-venom could have helped but
this was not given in time. It was just a tragic
accident.”
The snake was being diced up to be made into
snake soup, which is a delicacy in the area and a
much sought after dish in high-end restaurants.
China has seen a rising demand for snake products,
not only in restaurants but also for use in traditional
medicine.
Snake expert Yang Hong-Chang – who has spent 40
years studying cobras – says all reptiles can
function for up to an hour after losing body parts,
or even their entire body.
Mr Yang said: “It is perfectly possible that the head
remained alive and bit Peng’s hand. By the time a
snake has lost its head, it’s effectively dead as
basic body functions have ceased, but there is still
some reflexive action.
“It means snakes have the capability of biting and
injecting venom even after the head has been
severed.”

Woman Caught With Cannbis At Lagos Airport [See Photo]

A 37-year-old mother of three, Ezeh Ifeoma Maureen
(pictured above), has been arrested with substances
suspected to be cannabis by the National Drug Law
Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
According to The Nation, Maureen was caught at the
Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA) in
Ikeja, Lagos, during outward screening of China-bound
Ethiopian Airlines’ passengers for allegedly attempting
to smuggle 6.200 kilogrammes of dried weeds that
tested positive for cannabis.
The agency’s Airport Commander, Mr. Hamza Umar,
said the suspect told the officers that her bags contained
vegetables and foodstuff.
“She declared the content of her bags as vegetables and
foodstuff, but during a search, the vegetables turned out
to be cannabis weighing 6.200 kilogrammes.
The drug was packed in two parcels.”
The suspect, who hails from Anambra State, said:
“I am a business woman; I sell women’s clothes at the
Onitsha main market.
I usually export foodstuff to China and import female
dresses to Nigeria.
One of my customers in China called to tell me that his
brother would give me two parcels of vegetables to
bring to him.
I collected the parcels at the airport from the boy.
Unfortunately, when they tested them, I was told that
they contained cannabis.”
Chairman/Chief Executive of NDLEA, Ahmadu Giade,
advised the public to learn from the cases of those
arrested for drug trafficking.
“This mother of three children would have been killed
in China for drug trafficking if she was not
apprehended here.
It is important for the public to learn from her
experience and shun drug trafficking,” he said.
Giade warned passengers not to collect items from
people, who will not be there during a search.
The suspect, Giade said, would be charged to court for
unlawful possession of, and attempt to export cannabis.

Two Weeks Ago I Was The King, Now I Am The Devil Of Manchester – Van Gaal

Louis van Gaal has hit out at criticism following
Manchester United’s opening defeat to Swansea City and
maintains the club are set for a “difficult three
months”.
“Two weeks ago I was the king of Manchester and now
I am the devil of Manchester,” said Van Gaal.
“It’s the football world and it is especially the media in
this football world. I think the fans of Manchester are
intelligent.
“I’ve already said in all the press conferences that it
shall be difficult in the first three months, for the
players and also for the fans.
“I can imagine the fans are scared. They saw last year

Football enthusiasts optimistic Falconets will beat Germany on Sunday

Some Abuja football enthusiasts on Friday expressed
confidence in the ability of the national under-20 women team to
win the ongoing FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Canada on
Sunday.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Nigeria will take on
Germany in the competition’s final match, after overcoming North
Korea 6-2 in the semi-finals on Wednesday.
Germany had defeated France 2-1 to book a date with the
Falconets.
The football enthusiasts said that they were optimistic the
Falconets would triumph over their German opponents in view of
the Nigerian side’s performance so far.
A referee, Aminu Saliu, said the physical play of the Germans
would not stop the Falconets from defeating them.
“Since the Falconets reached the final without tasting defeat, I
believe they can go all the way to win the cup if they are not
intimidated by Germany.
“They should continue with the same spirit they started with. The
only weak link is the goalkeeper. I think that she needs as much
help as she can get from the defenders,’’ he said.
Niyi Ajayi, an engineer, said the Falconets have been playing well
since the beginning of the competition, and that this would serve
them in good stead on Sunday.
“The good thing is that the goalscoring chances they create and
their good ball possession are indications that they are always in
control of their games.
“But they need to be more clinical in front of goal on Sunday. I am
sure the technical crew has seen the lapses and will work on them
before they face Germany,’’ he said.
Adegboye Richard, a civil servant, said the Falconets have done a
good job so far in making Nigeria proud in the process, and would
not disappoint when it mattered.
“I did not expect them to reach the final. It was their second time
of reaching this stage and we need to encourage them to do more.
“I believe Nigeria are destined to win this competition. Even
though the German team is resilient, the players can’t stand the
Falconets,” Richard said.
The 2014 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup started on Aug. 5 and
will end on Aug 24.(NAN)

50 CENT: HE CHALLENGES FLOYD MAYWEATHER TO READ ONLY ONE PAGE OF HARRY POTTER!

Between Floyd Mayweather and 50 Cent
nothing goes right! After his fight with
T.I. in a fast food restaurant in Las
Vegas, the boxing champion called Nelly
and 50 Cent out during an interview and
said "Fuck T.I.! Fuck Nelly! Fuck 50
Cent!" . The latter decided to answer on
Instagram and challenged Floyd to read
only one page of the Harry Potter saga,
suggesting that he does not know how to
read!
It's a strange challenge that 50cent gave to
Mayweather. If the boxer takes up the
challenge, 50 cent will give $750 000 to
a charity of his choice. He just adds one
rule : he must do it in live on Jimmy
Kimmel show.

Mariah Carey Silences Nick Cannon With Gag Order

After confirming that there's "trouble in paradise," Nick Cannon
has reportedly been slapped with a gag order by his soon-to-be
ex-wife Mariah Carey .
According to TMZ , Nick and Mariah's lawyers hashed out a
confidentiality agreement as a part of their divorce. The only
problem is that it was allegedly created completely in Mariah's
favor.
Cannon is not allowed to say a word about the split, and if he
does, he will be hit with serious financial penalties. Mariah, on the
other hand, has the right under the agreement to speak on the split
as she pleases.
The agreement only allows Nick to speak on their separate living
situations — something he's already spoken of — and that's about
it.

Identical bride and groom both wear wedding dresses for Russia's most controversial marriage

The 'groom' is androgynous and spends his life dressed in female clothing but his male birth certificate helped him get round the country's stiff code on gay marriages
Both the brides looked lovely, in fact they looked almost identical as they walked down the aisle side-by-side in Russia's most controversial marriage.

In a country where same-sex weddings are banned and homosexuality only declassified as a mental illness in 1999, you would think Alina Davis and Ellison Brux would not have a chance of tying the knot.

But there was a catch, and one that forced fuming wedding officials to allow the wedding to go ahead.

Because Alina, 23, was born a man - Dimitriy Kozhuhov - and, since his birth certificate proved it, there was nothing to stop the union with his 21-year-old bride from going ahead.
Even if they did both wear dresses.

Alina, who is androgynous and goes around in female clothing every day, said: "We love each other and wanted to cement that union.

"We had no problems when we handed in the application to the registry office although we had expected a complaint or something but they didn't say anything.

"But then the head of the registry office called several times, telling us that they didn't want us to turn up both in wedding dresses. He said marriages in Russia were between a man and a woman and nobody else."

But the ceremony in the Kutuzovsky Prospekt registry office in Moscow went ahead earlier this month anyway even when the determined couple turned up both dressed as the bride.

It was not an entirely smooth affair; they were refused entry through the front door and were bundled inside through a rear entrance instead.

The registry office head refused to comment this week but the couple say they will not allow his attitude to ruin their big day.

Added Alina: "When we arrived at the day of the wedding, the head of the office was trying to hide us all the time.

"They rushed us into the office through a back door and that really offended us. He told us we were a disgrace to the society and we needed medical treatment.

"Now, I am pleased to see that the photos are being shared and it's being discussed and I hope we might inspire others to challenge the restrictive practices here and formalise their unions.

‘We are not alone in having such problems. I have written to couples who are planning similar marriages and are afraid of failures with registration. Be aware – you cannot be refused.

"After all, girls are the fairer sex. They are beautiful. So if a guy looks like a girl – it’s wonderful.’'

'She died trying to save me': Architect on torment of losing fire hero girlfriend

Oscar Silva, trapped on the fifth floor of their apartment building, did not know Sophie Rosser was trying to fight her way up the stairs
A grieving young man wept today as he relived the night his hero girlfriend died trying to save him from their blazing apartment.

Oscar Silva said: “She did what she did for me and that’s the worst thing to live with – the knowledge someone has given their life for you.

"She was so young and had so much to give.”

Architect Oscar was trapped on the fifth floor when 23-year-old Sophie Rosser returned home from a party.

Seeing flames licking the block and knowing Oscar was inside she phoned to warn him.

He hadn’t thought to tell her to stay put – he never dreamt she would come searching for him.

But that’s exactly what she did. And she died after being overcome by smoke as she fought her way up the stairs.

Firefighters carried her outside and Oscar had a bird’s-eye view of her limp figure spread face up on the pavement below, surrounded by paramedics.

Tears falling freely, he said: “I slumped to the floor and watched as they lay her on the ground and spent ten minutes trying to save her.

“All I could do was shout ‘That’s my Sophie’.

“Now I carry her legacy. She would want me to live life to the full as she did.

"She always woke with a smile. And that’s what I a try to do. I want her sacrifice to be worthwhile.”

Next week marks two years since Sophie’s death. But for Oscar, speaking for the first time about his loss, it seems like yesterday.

When I asked if he needed a break he quietly declined. “It helps to talk about her,” he said.

The 30-year-old was working in a bar in London when he met Sophie in 2009. He had arrived in the UK four years earlier from his native Nicaragua to work as an architect but had lost his job.

He felt like giving up, but PA Sophie inspired him to keep trying.

“She was five years younger than me but she was way ahead of me,” he said.

With Sophie’s support Oscar got a new job as an architect.

And six months into the romance the couple rented a flat with a housemate on the Isle of Dogs in East London.

Oscar recalled: “We loved life together, wandering around London, especially by the river. She would take photos, she taught me how to look at things.

"And we threw parties. We loved dancing.”

The day of the fire, August 26, 2012, Oscar had arranged to meet Sophie at her friend’s birthday party but was late and decided to go home – a decision that still haunts him.

He said: “She was having such a good time, I wanted to let her have her night.

“I waited up for her but by 1am I had fallen asleep. The next thing I knew my phone was ringing.”

Sophie had arrived outside and seen the flames.

“She kept saying ‘Get out, get out’,” explained Oscar. “I looked out the window and could see flames reflected in the glass of the building opposite.”

Oscar and the flatmate tried to get down the stairs but were beaten back. He recalled: “The smoke was thick and it was so hot. The stairwell was black.”

An inquest revealed a fourth-floor neighbour caused the fire by leaving a damp towel over a lamp.

Oscar said: “We went back to the flat and I tried to ring Sophie to say we would stand on the balcony but her phone ran out.

"We could see people being evacuated and I felt better knowing Sophie was safe.”

But she was far from it. In a bid to save Oscar and warn their neighbours she had run into the building, now an inferno. She was found collapsed on the fourth floor.

“Lots of us were standing on our balconies, waiting,” recalled Oscar. “Then I saw her in the arms of the fireman.”

Fire crews, evacuated Oscar and his flatmate and he went straight to Sophie.

She had suffered a cardiac arrest but paramedics managed to get her breathing again and Oscar followed her to hospital.

He said: “They told me she was stable. I sat there for eight hours planning the time I’d take off to look after her.

“Then I heard the alarms. She had had another cardiac arrest. They couldn’t save her.

"I went to say goodbye and simply told her she was the love of my life and that she was the bravest person in the world. She died in the dark, in that toxic smoke.”

Blankly, he explained their flat was spotless after the fire. “I moved out, I couldn’t stay there,” he admitted.

Almost as heavy as his grief is the burden of responsibility Oscar feels he now carries to try and justify Sophie’s sacrifice.

He pushes to live life to the full the way she wanted to live hers. “It is a big responsibility,” he said, his shoulders seeming to slump under the emotional strain.

“At work I want to do the best job possible for her. I went to New York because that’s somewhere we planned to go for her birthday.

"Every place I visit I take photos with her camera. I have done a course so I can take them as well as she did.

“Sophie’s always in my head. She always tells me what to do.

“I was very lucky to meet her.”

Doctors Shocked After Boy’s Hands Swell To Giant Proportions [See Photo]

Meet an eight-year-old Indian boy whose hands
swelled to giant proportions and now weigh more
than 12 kilograms.
The boy is unable to carry out simple tasks, including
tying his own shoe laces, feeding himself etc.
Young Kaleem suffers from an extremely rare unknown
condition, he is unable to carry out simple tasks,
including tying his own shoe laces, after he was born
with hands twice the size of an average baby.
Kaleem’s parents knew he was different at birth but
were as powerless to help and the youngster’s hands
have now grown so large they measure 33cm from the
base of his palm to the end of his middle finger.
The youngster’s hands have now grown so large they
measure 33cm from the base of his palm to the end of
his middle finger.
Since his childhood Kaleem has been bullied and
shunned because others are ‘scared’ of his deformity.
The boy does not go to school because other kids have
repeatedly beat him.
“I find it difficult to put on my clothes, button my shirt
and pull up my pants.
But I don’t know if I want doctors to operate on my
hands. They would have to make me unconscious and
then they would cut me open.
I have no problem if they could do it without an injection.
A small operation would be okay.”
Kaleem’s parents, who earn just $25 a month, have only
just been able to take their son to a local doctor for an
assessment.
Kaleem is believed to suffer from either lymphangioma
or hamartoma – which are both treatable. However,
more testing is needed to identify the disease.
Apart from the unsightly growths, Kaleem is in good
health – with properly functioning lungs and heart.
But as his hands continue to grow it may put increased
pressure on his cardiovascular system, potentially
shortening his life.
“As far as my knowledge goes, this is an extremely rare
condition.
I have not seen a case in medical journals or on the
internet where only the hands grew to such a large
size.
Until we have done proper genetic testing we will not
be able to say exactly what is causing this deformity, ”
Dr Ratan , the director of the local hospital, said.
Lymphangioma is a condition of the lymphatic system
which causes extreme inflammation resulting in doughy
masses forming in certain parts of the
body. Hamartoma is a benign type of tumour where the
body produces excess tissue.
As Kaleem’s s hands continue to grow it may put
increased pressure on his cardiovascular system,
potentially shortening his life.

Pope Francis: I Only Have Two Or Three More Years To Live

Pope Francis jokingly states he only has “two or three
years” to live before he goes to the “Father’s House” in
first comments on his own mortality
The Pope has spoken publicly for the first time about
his own death, suggesting that he only has two to three
years to live and may retire early.
Pope Francis, 77, made the claims during a press
conference on his return flight from a hectic, five-day
visit to South Korea.
When asked how he was coping with his huge
popularity, the Pontiff replied: “I try to think of my sins,
my mistakes, so as not to think that I am somebody.
Because I know this will last a short time, two or three
years, and then to the house of the Father.”
He then made a chopping gesture with his hand and
whistling noise.
If the Pope is proved right, it would bring the curtain
down on a revolutionary papacy during which he has
already shaken up – over the course of months since his
election last year – Vatican institutions which have
remained unchanged for centuries.
On the plane back from Korea, the Pope looked in good
form and stood for an hour as he took questions from
reporters, but he admitted he was struggling to keep up
with his appointments, recalling how he cancelled a visit
to a Rome hospital in June.
“The day I should have gone to the Gemelli (Hospital),
up to 10 minutes before I was there, but I could not do
it. It is true, they were seven very demanding days
then, full of engagements. Now I have to be a little
more prudent,” he said.
The hard working pope, who grew up in Buenos Aires
and became archbishop there in 1998 before his election
as pope, revealed his last holiday outside the city was in
1975, but he added that he was a dab hand at
holidaying at home.
“I change rhythm. I sleep more, I read the things I like.
I listen to music. That way I rest. In July and part of
August I did that,” he said.
Pope Francis admitted that he had “some nerve
problems”, which required treatment. “Must treat them
well, these nerves, give them mate (an Argentine tea)
every day,” he joked.
On Tuesday, bookmakers Paddy Power made Ghana’s
Cardinal Peter Turkson 7/1 favourite to succeed the
Pope, followed by Canada’s Cardinal Marc Ouellet at
8/1. England’s Cardinal Vincent Nicols stood at 20/1.
On the plane the Pope again supported the decision by
his predecessor Pope Benedict to retire – the first pope
to do so in 600 years – and suggested he might do the
same.
“Let us think about what he said,” the Pope said of
Benedict. “I have got old, I do not have the strength. It
was a beautiful gesture of nobility, of humility and
courage.”
The Pope pointed out that 70 years ago, bishops rarely
retired. “They did not exist, but today emeritus bishops
are an institution,” he said.
“I think that the emeritus pope is already an institution
because our life gets longer and at a certain age there
isn’t the capacity to govern well because the body gets
tired, and maybe one’s health is good but there isn’t the
capacity to carry forward all the problems of a
government like that of the Church,” he said.
“I would do the same,” he added. “I would pray, but I
would do the same. He (Benedict) opened a door that is
institutional, not exceptional.”
Despite his talk of death and retirement, the Pope was
also keen to lay out plans for future foreign trips,
suggesting he still has plenty of energy.
After suggesting that the UN should get involved in
halting the advance of the Islamic militants in Iraq, the
Pope said he was willing to visit northern Iraq, even
though “at the moment it is not the best thing to do”.
He said he was aiming to visit Philadelphia next year,
had been invited by Barack Obama to the US Congress
and by the secretary general of the United Nations to
visit the UN in New York.
“So maybe the three cities together,” he said. “Then
there’s Mexico. The Mexicans want me to go to the
Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe, so we could take
advantage of that too, but it’s not certain.”
He was also mulling a quick trip to Spain, he said.
Following trips to Brazil, the Holy Land and South
Korea, the Vatican has confirmed Francis will visit
Albania in September and Sri Lanka and the Philippines
in January.

Falconets down Korea DPR, soar into final

Asisat Oshoala scored four times as Nigeria reached the final with
a thumping 6-2 victory over Korea DPR in the highest-scoring
semi-final ever seen at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
Oshoala also laid on two more goals in a win that leaves the Super
Falconets to face either France or Germany on Sunday at
Montreal’s Olympic Stadium, and the North Koreans to play for
third place at the same venue.
Nigeria have had a tendency to score quick goals during their time
at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Canada 2014, and Courtney
Dike continued that trend with a goal barely more than a minute
after kick-off. Oshoala set the tone by setting it up, releasing Dike
in behind Korea DPR’s captain Choe Sol-Gyong before the No8
expertly picked her spot just inside the far post. At the half-way
point of the first period, Oshoala doubled Nigeria’s lead,
capitalising on a poor touch from centre-half Song Kyong-Hui
before rounding the keeper and passing into an open goal.
Less than ten minutes later, Ri Un-Sim – arguably the North
Koreans’ most dangerous attacker throughout the tournament –
pulled one back with a great bit of individual skill after receiving a
long ball from midfield. Ri beat two defenders on the cutback and
finished past Sandra Chiichii with a powerful shot into the top
corner. From there, Korea DPR looked inspired in search of an
equaliser but the score remained 2-1 at half-time before Nigeria
swiftly put the game out of reach within minutes of the restart.
In similar fashion to her appearance and goal in the quarter-finals
against New Zealand, Uchechi Sunday came on as a substitute
and within a minute scored to restore her team’s two-goal lead.
Oshoala then put the game out of reach on the hour mark when
she hit a stunning shot from 20 yards out that left Kim with no
chance as it flew into the top corner.
Korea DPR had one last glimmer of hope two minutes later when
Ugo Njoku handled the ball in her own area, allowing Jon So-Yon
to score from the penalty spot. However, Oshoala’s quality shone
through yet again in the 68th minute when she completed her hat-
trick, beating Song and winning a foot race with Kim to once more
fire into an empty net.
Nigeria were not finished there, though, and with five minutes from
time the No4 matched the number on her jersey. The goal came as
a result of another North Korean defensive miscue less than six
yards from goal, resulting in a simple tap-in.
Oshoala had taken the wind out of the Korean sails far earlier in
the match and when the final whistle sounded, her Nigerian team-
mates surrounded her in celebration, while Hwang Yong-Bong’s
side trudged off disconsolately.

the United States. It went viral throughout social media during the
Northern Hemisphere summer of 2014.
The action is aimed at raising money for research into ALS
(amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, a form of motor neurone disease)
and in the UK to raise money for the Motor Neurone Disease
Association and Macmillan Cancer Support.
But braving freezing water is not enough, a small donation is also
expected and so far #icebucketchallenge has raised more than
$22.9 million for charity.
After an icy soaking the participant then nominates two or three
further people to undertake the challenge within 24 hours. Those
who forfeit the challenge must donate a larger sum of money to a

World’s most pierced man claims he was denied entry into UAE

DUBAI // Rolf Buchholz, the world’s most pierced man,
claims he was denied entry into the UAE because of his
extreme facial jewellery and suspicion he was involved in
“black magic”.
“Those who escorted me back to the airplane said that it
was because of the way I looked and that it was because
I am [suspected of] black magic,” said Mr Buchholz, who
has 453 piercings on his body and was due to make an
appearance at a Dubai nightclub on Friday.
“I never got an official answer as to why I was not
allowed to enter Dubai.”
The German national, who is the Guinness World Record
holder for the most piercings on a person’s body, said
that he had no problem getting through passport control
at Dubai International Airport but was stopped at the
checkpoint where passengers’ hand luggage is scanned.
“The took my passport as well as my hand luggage and
asked to go to an office where I asked about what is
happening,” he said. “They were friendly, but didn’t say
anything and took me back to behind passport control.
“I got my hand luggage back but not my passport.”
Mr Buchholz said cabin crew kept his passport and
boarding pass with them until he arrived back in
Düsseldorf via Istanbul.
“I don’t know when they stamped on my passport that
my visa into the UAE was cancelled. They took it, and I
didn’t get it until I was back in Germany.
“The airport personnel escorting me back to the plane
and had a long discussion with other people on how they
should take me back to the plane,” said Mr Buchholz.
“There were police at the plane, and I was not allowed to
stop long enough so that people can see me. They told
me that I should keep moving so that no one spots me.”
He added that his luggage was lost en route to Dubai and
he had to leave without it.
“My luggage was lost and did not get to Dubai in the first
place. I got a call that it is now in Dubai, and I have
asked them to send it back to Germany,” said Mr
Buchholz, adding that Dubai’s airport security had
nothing to do with the lost luggage.
Mr Buchholz said he hopes to come back to Dubai if he
can be assured entry.
“I hope I can enter Dubai again and meet all the people,
but at the moment I don’t see when and how it can
happen,” he said. “I think if people were a little more
tolerant, then the world would be a better place.
“I hope there is a change in Dubai and the whole world,
so that everyone can live in peace.”
Mr Buchholz is scheduled to make an appearance in
Norway at end of the month.
The National was unable to contact airport security at
Dubai International Airport for a comment.

I had sex with five dogs, boy, 18, tells police

Amid the fear of the Ebola virus in the country, it was with disbelief
that residents of Iguosa community in Ovia North East Local
Government Council of Edo State ran to an uncompleted building
in the area to see an 18-year-old boy, simply identified as
Ighodaro, making love to a dog .
Curiously, the dog was said to have enjoyed the sex before the
crowd stormed the scene. Ighodaro was in JSS 2 before he
dropped out from school, due to the inability of his poor parents to
pay his school fees.
He learnt welding, but, while doing that, he became a lover of
dogs. He confessed to Sunday Vanguard that he has slept with
different dogs five times until this last episode. It was learnt that a
member of the community was passing by the uncompleted
building when he sighted the boy making love to the dog and
raised the alarm that attracted the villagers.
Mr George Ogbonmwa, owner of the dog, expressed  shock at the
incident, explaining that when he saw the young man with the dog,
he did not know he had an ulterior motive.  “I thought he wanted to
play with the dog only for him to end up in an uncompleted
building where he had canal knowledge of the dog.
This is like another dream to me because I have not seen this kind
of thing in my life before”. Following what the villagers described
as an abomination, the Odionwere (head)of the community, Elder
Clifford Igiehon, was invited to the scene and expressed shock
over the incident which he described as a taboo.
He said,”We have never seen this kind of thing before in this
community. This is an abominable act and we don’t want the
suspect to come and corrupt other people here. What he
committed was a taboo. We will call the parents to come and
atone the gods but the boy will go on his own, because we cannot
kill him.
But we have killed the dog because that is the first thing to do.
And because we don’t want this kind of taboo to happen again, we
decided to hand the boy over to the police. This kind of thing has
never happened before, the boy has to face the music. The parents
will perform traditional rites, it is going to cost about a hundred
thousand Naira.
The boy knows what he is doing, he is not mad. We know him from
the beginning, he was in school before he went to learn welding;
may be the parents could not pay his school fees. We were even
shocked he said he has had sex with dogs five times; that will tell
you he knows what he is doing”.
The community leaders further used the opportunity to appeal to
the police: “Give us more policemen in our area because a lot of
evil things are happening now. Like what the boy did is a taboo
and they must cleanse the land with the appropriate sacrifice. We
need the police to be around us so that these evil happenings will
stop”.
The suspect, who spoke to Sunday Vanguard at the Edo State
Police Command Headquarters, Benin-City, said he did not know
what was wrong with him, admitting that he enjoyed sex with five
dogs while two bit him during the act. “I learnt welding around
Iheya. I don’t know when I slept with the dog, I slept with dogs five
times. Some of the dogs bit me, I have been bitten two times and
each time I have a dog bite my grand father will treat me”, he said.
Asked about the tactics he deployed to attract the dogs, Ighodaro
stated: “When I call them, I will be rubbing their head, petting them
so that they will feel free with me. I will be playing with them and
they will follow me. They will bark at me some times, and when I
notice that it is serious I will leave them. Any one that is friendly
with me, I take that one to an uncompleted building and have sex”.
The suspect who was asked about his girl friend, said he broke up
with her last year and started making love to dogs this year. His
words: “ I had a girlfriend last year but we are no longer together. I
started sleeping with dogs this year around March. I don’t know
what is wrong with me.
None of my relations knows I sleep with dogs. In this particular
case, the dog is very familiar with me; so it was easy to lure it
away. While I was having sex with the dog, one man saw me and
ran to inform the Odionwere. They now came to pick me and they
asked the police to go and check me and see if I have any disease.
I don’t know what is wrong with me”.
Edo State Police Commissioner, Foluso Adebanjo, who reacted to
the incident, narrated: “It was the people of that community that
arrested the boy and called the police.
He was taken to Owotubu Division before he was transferred to the
state Police Command Headquarters. What he has done is
classified under Unnatural Offences, Section 214 Sub-Section Two
which says that any person who has carnal knowledge of an
animal is guilty of a felony and he is liable for imprisonment for 14
years if he is found guilty. We are going to charge him to court.
You can see that the guy is not denying anything.
He made a confessional statement that he has been sleeping with
dogs since March and he has done it five times. I was very worried
because this is an unnatural offence and it can bring problem to
any community.
You can imagine a human being sleeping with a dog what will that
dog produce in some months time; , you can see it is a bizarre
situation. The boy looks normal unless if he has spiritual problem
because I can’t imagine some body sleeping with a dog.
He said he had a girl friend before; you can imagine if he decides
to sleep with another woman what he will give the woman and that
is how they spread diseases particularly now that we have
different diseases, It is really shocking that we experience this
type of issue every day in our country. I am very worried but thank
God that the community people have killed that dog because they
said what the boy committed was a taboo”.

Professional MMA fighter 'War Machine' arrested over claims he attacked porn star ex-girlfriend

A professional fighter accused of attacking his former girlfriend is now in custody after being arrested near Los Angeles.

Jonathan Koppenhaver, also known by the name "War Machine" for his time in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, was taken into custody at a hotel in the Los Angeles suburb of Simi Valley yesterday afternoon.

Horrific pictures showed the beating the porn star claims she suffered at the hands of her ex-boyfriend.

Adult film star Christy Mack alleges she and another person were attacked in her Las Vegas home by Koppenhaver.

She says the incident happened at 2am last Friday.

Mack, 23, wrote: "I  have no recollection of how many times I was hit, I just know my injuries that resulted from my beating.

"My injuries include 18 broken bones around my eyes, my nose is broken in 2 places, I am missing teeth and several more are broken."

Mack managed to escape when her attacker went into the kitchen. She continued: "I ran out my back door, shutting it behind me so the dogs didn't run inside to tip him off.

"I hoped the fence to the golf course behind my house and ran to a neighboring house."

Mack has thanked well wishers for their support on her Twitter profile, which has 607,000 followers. A fundraising campaign has been set up to help pay for her medical bills.

Police have not  identified the third person who was in Mack's home and also assaulted, but confirming they both sustained 'severe but non-life-threatening injures.'

The son of a police officer, Koppenhaver has had a varied career, including stints as an ultimate fighter and as a porn star himself. He and Mack posed nude when still a couple in the January issues of Hustler magazine.

Do loom bands cause cancer? Tests link accessories with potentially deadly chemicals

Fears retailers are flouting regulations by selling imported bands with 500 TIMES the legal level of toxins

Hundreds of thousands of imported loom band products could contain cancer-causing chemicals, researchers have warned.

There are fears ruthless retailers could be flouting regulations after the British Assay Office, which tests for purity of products, found some loom band products contain 500 TIMES the legal level of toxins.

An Assay Office spokesman said: “It is the charms supplied with loom band making packs which we are finding in the majority of cases at the moment are failing.

“The latest loom bands craze in particular is throwing up some alarming results considering these products are so child appealing.”

The loom band craze has taken the UK by storm and several hundred can be bought for just a few pounds.

Tests show the levels of phthalates were 500 times the legal limit in some of the imported loom bands.

Phthalates are suspected carcinogens and could cause cancer.

An Assay Office spokesman said: “Phthalates can migrate from plastic into the body if they come into contact with saliva or sweat.

"The latest craze for loom bands has highlighted once again that an apparently harmless product may have long-term detrimental effects to health.”

The Chem Trust – which exists to help protect people and animals from dangerous chemicals – was worried by the research.

“It is clear that loom bands, or at least their charms, are breaching this regulation,” the Trust’s Dr Michael Warhurst said.

The Assay Office works with retailers and importers checking what is safe to sell.

Actor friend of Robin Williams claims the drugs he was taking for Parkinson's disease led to his suicide.

A close friend of tragic Robin Williams blames the drugs the star was taking to battle Parkinson's disease for his suicide.

Actor Rob Schneider has taken to Twitter to make the claim after the comedian was found dead at his home on Monday, August 11, and it was revealed that he "was not yet ready to share publicly" his struggles with the incurable and debilitating illness.

The Grown Ups star posted: "Now that we can talk about it. Robin Williams was on a drug treating the symptoms of Parkinson's. One of the SIDE-EFFECTS IS SUICIDE! (sic)"

The 50-year-old actor met Robin when they appeared on the US TV show, Saturday Night Live, more than 20 years ago and they developed a close bond, often taking to the stage together at stand-up comedy nights.

Robin's spokeswoman denied the rumours that his family feel his medication had "pushed him over the edge", according to the Mail on Sunday newspaper.

However, a source said: "Robin had recently left rehab. He was on medication for anxiety and depression and had also started taking drugs to combat the early onset of Parkinson’s.

"Many of these drugs list suicidal thoughts as a possible side effect. A lot of Robin's friends are convinced that the cocktail of prescription pills he was on somehow contributed to his mental state deteriorating as quickly as it did.

"Robin had always suffered from depression and addiction but the diagnosis and treatment of his Parkinson’s was new, as was the combination of drugs he was on."

Dr Jeff Bronstein, neurologist specialising in Parkinson’s, said getting the diagnosis can make people depressed but there is also a higher incidence of depression even before the disease is recognised. He added: "We think it's one of the early symptoms."

Meanwhile, the star was also said to be "devastated" that his US sitcom The Crazy Ones was cancelled in April after just one season.

The decision by TV bosses reportedly sent him into a deeper depression that ultimately led to his suicide, TMZ reports.

A source said the Hook actor viewed the cancellation as a "personal failure" after telling friends before the show's debut: "My face is all over town [on billboards] and it's all on my back."

Robin's family, including his widow Susan Schneider, are now planning an intimate funeral for friends, family and work colleagues which is "likely" to be in his home town in San Francisco.

Moses joins Stoke on loan

Chelsea’s Nigeria winger Victor Moses joined Stoke on a
season-long loan on Saturday.
Moses has struggled to make an impact at Stamford Bridge since
moving from Wigan for £9 million ($15 million) in 2012 and spent
last season on loan at Liverpool.
The 23-year-old, who can play on both flanks and in a more
central attacking role, is Stoke’s sixth signing since the end of last
season.
Stoke’s chief executive Tony Scholes said: “We are delighted to
have secured the services of such an exciting young talent in
Victor.
“He will certainly add to our attacking options and from talking to
him it’s obvious that he’s really excited about the prospect of
making an impact in the Premier League with Stoke City.”
Moses, who started his career in England at Crystal Palace,
started six Premier League games for Liverpool last term and
featured in a further 13 from the bench, scoring his only goal on
his debut against Swansea.
Born in Nigeria, Moses chose to represent England at various
youth levels up to the under-21s before deciding to play for the
country of his birth in senior internationals.
He started all four games at the recent World Cup as Nigeria
reached the last 16 before losing to France.

Van Gaal accepts blame as Man United crash

Louis van Gaal accepted responsibility after Manchester
United crashed to a 2-1 loss at home to Swansea City on Saturday
in his first Premier League game as manager.
The 63-year-old Dutchman is bidding to transform United’s
fortunes after a dismal seventh-place finish last season, but his
tenure got off to a similarly disappointing start as Swansea
claimed a first league win at Old Trafford.

(AFP) – Louis van Gaal accepted responsibility after Manchester
United crashed to a 2-1 loss at home to Swansea City on Saturday
in his first Premier League game as manager.
The 63-year-old Dutchman is bidding to transform United’s
fortunes after a dismal seventh-place finish last season, but his
tenure got off to a similarly disappointing start as Swansea
claimed a first league win at Old Trafford.
Ki Sung-yueng put Swansea ahead in the 28th minute and
although new United captain Wayne Rooney hooked home a 53rd-
minute equaliser, Gylfi Sigurdsson gave the Welsh side victory
with 18 minutes to play.
“We were very nervous in the first half, made the wrong choices,
and that is a pity. In the second half we never played as a team.
Therefore I’m responsible,” said Van Gaal.
“It is very disappointing that we have lost our first home match.
We didn’t reach the level we can play at.
“That is disappointing because we have done it much better and
when you cannot do it in your first home match that is
disappointing, especially for the fans.”
Van Gaal set his team out in the 3-4-1-2 formation that he had
successfully introduced in pre-season, but Ki’s goal forced him
into a half-time switch.
Nani came on for striker Javier Hernandez, with Ashley Young
moving to left-back, but although Rooney equalised soon after and
then hit the post from a free-kick, United struggled to create
further chances.
“We had more chances than Swansea, but that shall say nothing
about the result,” Van Gaal added.
“It is the goals that count. I thought we would win (at 1-1), but
because we are not playing as a team in the second half, we made
the wrong decisions going forward.
“My players did their utmost best, which I said in the dressing
room, but you also need to play as a team and reach your level.”
With new left-back Luke Shaw sidelined by a hamstring injury,
United had only one close-season signing in their starting XI in the
shape of former Athletic Bilbao midfielder Ander Herrera.
Injuries obliged Van Gaal to hand competitive debuts to
youngsters Tyler Blackett and Jesse Lingard, but he dismissed
suggestions that the result would force him to take emergency
action in the transfer market.
“No, because that is a short-term assault. Of course we need
defenders, but I have already said that in former press
conferences,” he told BT Sport.
“You cannot say because of one game that we lost, and all the
others we won, that it is the defence (that is responsible). It’s the
team.”

Telecom companies to switch-off fake phones from networks — SON

The Federal Government will soon order telecom
companies in the country to effect a nationwide switch-off of
over 12.6 million counterfeit phones from networks by using
the International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) number.
This was disclosed by Dr. Joseph Odumodu, Director General
Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON).
Speaking during an interactive forum with Phone Brand
Owners in Lagos, the SON boss pointed out that in 2013
alone, over N5 billion was spent in Nigeria on the
importation of substandard mobile phones, adding that as at
April this year, Nigeria currently has a GSM subscriber base
of 126,958,904; and 10 percent of these subscribers (12.6
million) use counterfeit phones.
He affirmed that the enforcement will boost consumer
rights protection, increased revenue for the government via
taxes; increase revenue for the genuine mobile phone
manufacturers as well as improved GSM networks in the
country.
According to him, SON is working out the plan with
Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, and Consumer
Protection Council; the phone operators, and “Soon
government shall announce the directive to switch the fake
phones off the networks.”
“As more countries switch-off counterfeit phones, the people
behind this scourge will keep moving to countries that are yet
to adopt this solution, hence the urgent need to address the
situation,” he said.
He enjoined all brand owners to monitor and protect their
products from the factories (manufacturers) until they get to
the end-users.
“Brand owners have to inscribe coded identification marks
on original phones to ensure traceability and proper user’s
guide,” he said.
Umego Adaora, CPC Scientific Officer Lagos Zonal Office, also
urged the brand owners to look beyond making money by
considering the negative effects substandard phones have on
the economy, the environment and the consumer.
Some of the brand owners reacted to the development:
Comfort Ebere, whose company is Nokia mobile sole
representative in Nigeria, noted, ‘There is a phone I saw
recently; Nokia as a brand name and they wrote L300 but
Nokia doesn’t produce L300. I also saw Nokia L800 and I
asked where are these phones coming from? I was taken a
backed and I went to the office and spoke with my people to
know what is really happening in the markets. When we see
a real Nokia phones from us we know. If we key in the code
and it doesn’t bring up the features we tell the customer, this
is not from us.”
Sunday Mbiam, who represented LG Electronics, said, “I
must confess that it has been very frustrating. You have good
phones in the market but getting complaints from consumer
that most of the products they found in the markets are
faked. They must have bought it from roadsides and not from
