Newlyweds die in tragic accident after head-on collision with each other on way to work

A husband and wife have both been killed after their cars collided
head-on into each other on their way to work.
Cristina Muniz, 26, and 31-year-old Nicholas Cruz, who were
originally from Mexico, both worked for Mahard Pullet Farm, near
Wichita Falls on the border between Texas and Oklahoma, but due
to differing shift patterns often took separate cars to work.
The couple were driving on a narrow road with no markings, and
the accident appears to have happened when Ms Muniz drifted
across the road and hit her husband’s truck at the crest of a hill.
Neither were wearing seatbelts, and rescuers needed specialist
equipment to cut them from the wreckage.
The couple, who married in April last year, leave behind three
young children.
Trooper Jymie Ha told the Times Record News : ‘It appears speed
and the layout of the road, including a hill crest, are going to be
factors in the cause of the accident.’
